Media Center Belgrade, in collaboration with Civil Rights Defenders and Olof Palme Center, invite you to a series of quick panels and research demonstrations with over 30 experts from civil society organisations, media and research institutes. People with something different to say about key issues concerning Serbia today. Electoral system. Corruption. Human Rights. Justice. Equality.
What are the key concerns this country needs to resolve regardless of who will form the government after the May 6th elections? You are invited to collect accurate information from experts that you cannot see in the media every day. Join us in informing the public debate and demanding democracy in a continuing cat-and-mouse game between the state authorities and society watchdogs.
For the first time in South East Europe, at the moment when Serbia is deciding its future, Media Center will work with partners to collect, analyze and report on public opinion concerning the election process as it is accumulate from Internet sources. During the Election Day, every hour from the opening of polling stations, until the end of election night, Media Center will publish reports and analysis of information gathered on the Internet.
On this occasion, a professional team of associates, in addition to monitoring social networks and other Internet channels, will install the Ushahidi platform for mapping data, news, and reviews of possible irregularities from over 8,000 polling stations directly.
The new media team emphasizes that foreign and local media will be able to follow updated reports that monitor public opinion during Election Night including the entire election process, and their comparison with CeSID’s preliminary results that will arrive alongside Internet reports, all available on the Media Centre website mc.rs.
